As the Volunteer Coordinator you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all volunteer program activities in the organization.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
-
College degree or equivalent experience in human services preferred
-
Must have two (2) years of experience in a health care setting
-
Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred
-
Must be at least 18 years of age
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
-
Must demonstrate the ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services

Must understand hospice philosophy
-
Must possess the ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs

Must possess the ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered employees
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must be flexible in work hours

Must demonstrate the willingness to maintain a comprehensive working knowledge regarding information systems and applicable software programs
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation program
-
Recruit, educate, and select volunteers from at least three (3) recruitment sessions a year

Establish a need for volunteer services with the patient and family/caregiver and entire hospice team

Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner

Maintain monthly statistics and current personnel files

Reevaluate volunteer program, as necessary

Coordinate support/education meetings
-
Attend interdisciplinary group meetings

Provide information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services

Participate as needed in the budget preparation for program development

Actively participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities

Accept and perform other related duties and responsibilities
