Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of aseptic techniques, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and sterile processing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sterilization procedures to ensure medical equipment and instruments are safe for patient use.
- Follow established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing medical supplies.
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
-Assist with OR turnover including cleaning of the operating room and opening of sterile supplies and instrumentation.
-Unpack boxes and put away sterile supplies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in sterile processing preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or sterile processing role is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
