Surgical Assistant
Job Description
Summary
The Surgical Assistant is primarily responsible for cleaning and sterilization of instruments, preparing operatory and instrument trays for procedures, maintaining instruments and equipment, preoperative and postoperative patient instructions, entering clinical notes in the patient record, processing items such as removable dental appliances and casts or impressions.
Essential Functions
1. Receiving patients, viewing charts, and beginning patient preparation.
2. Maintain notes about performed procedures, progress, recommendations, and other subjects in the patient's charts.
3. Ensure that surgical tools are properly cleaned and sterilized before procedures begin.
4. Assist oral surgeon in management of treatment procedures.
5. Manage inventory and regular maintenance requirements of office and dental equipment and supplies.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
