This salary position reports to the HSE Manager and will be responsible for supporting all Health Safety and Environmental processes.
Responsibilities include working with the site HSE manager to ensure Safety, Health and Environmental compliance is in accordance with MS Ambrogio North America standards, OSHA, EPA, and all other state/federal regulations.
This position has a heavy focus on hazardous waste management, training execution and tracking, document control and organization, working hands on to resolve issues, participating in facility HSE teams including safety committee and emergency response team.
Must be able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to be the driver of swift and focused investigations that result in preventative outcomes and measures. We are looking for an ambitious and driven individual to be a part of our team.
Responsibilities:
- Be a crucial part in daily safety rhythms such as GEMBA walks, safety committee, and compliance inspections
- Oversee waste streams including hazardous waste for facility.
- Large focus in hazardous waste compliance. Ex: Training, logging, pickup scheduling, profiling, inspections, labeling, etc.
- Conduct safety trainings and manage training tracking/compliance
- Provide administrative support to HSE Manager with database management and reporting and recordkeeping.
- Assist with health, safety and environmental compliance, auditing procedures and monitor correction action plans.
- Assist with site environmental programs such as storm water and wastewater management plans
- Lead proactive measures with hazard recognition and communication (safe work practices, job safety analysis, PPE risk assessments, LOTO procedure updates/reviews)
- Assist the plant safety teams and drive employee involvement
- Respond to safety concerns from employees and ensure proper follow up
- Project overall professional attitude reflecting industry excellence in environment and safety
- Be a member of the site emergency response team & accident investigations
- Ensure overall compliance (identification review, implementation, and tracking)
- Implement HSE guidelines, procedures, and best practices.
- Must be able to work independently and in group settings.
- Develop monthly HSE Toolbox talks for facility
- All other job tasks as required
Qualifications:
- BS in Safety and Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Business Management, or related degree/ field or equivalent experience. Associate degree in EHS or related field is acceptable, but candidate must be willing and able to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree within a reasonable time frame.
- 2-4 years of safety experience in manufacturing or closely related field preferred. Previous experience with state & local regulatory agencies also preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, & ISO Management System standards and requirements.
- Very proficient computer skills (MS Office) and relevant technical skills. Individual must be highly motivated, able to work independently, and demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to be flexible and work closely with all facets of the organization is required.

Desired:
- CPR/AED certification or experience, First Responder Certification, hazardous materials operations or technician experience, and an ergonomic background is a plus.
- Experience in managing hazardous waste.
- Familiarity with OSHA VPP & ISO safety programs.
