Description:
- Conducts intake interviews.
- Screens for crisis and provides assessment or referrals, as appropriate.
- Formulates, plans and delivers short and long term clinical services to individuals and couples.
- Explores and utilizes agency-based and community-based resources to refer to case management and information and referral services, and other community resources.
- Confers with family members, schools and other contacts (when a release is obtained) including psychiatric, medical, legal, school, law enforcement, and agency personnel to further the interests of the clients or to make appropriate referrals.
- Meets with the Director/clinical supervisor at designated time for in-depth discussion of cases and administrative responsibilities.
- Coordinates, consults and collaborates with internal staff on behalf of clients.
- Consults and collaborates with staff APN for diagnosis and evaluation of clients.
- Maintains case records in accordance with agency requirements and procedures.
- Participates in Agency PQI process.
- Participates in professional training and case supervision to assure maintenance of high standards of clinical service.
- Other program related activities.
- And any other responsibilities that benefit the agency and clients at the discretion of the Department Director.
Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in social work, psychology, and/or related fields.
- Ability to develop effective therapeutic relationships with individuals and groups.
- Knowledge of theories of human behavior and ability to effectively apply them in the counseling process.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff and with other individuals, agencies, and institutions in the community. This may include staff committees, community presentations, and like activities.
- Ability to gather and record client information and when assigned to present to.
- Ability to interpret agency services and goals, to community groups.
- Knowledge of cross-cultural traditions.
- NJ State licenses: LCSW
