Job Description:
Harmony Public Schools is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable High School Biology Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating and engaging learning environment for high school students, fostering their intellectual and personal development through the study of biological sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement rigorous, standards-based lesson plans that align with Harmony Public Schools' curriculum guidelines and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
- Incorporate innovative teaching strategies, technology, and real-world applications to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Instruction:
- Deliver effective and differentiated instruction in Biology, catering to the diverse learning needs and styles of students.
- Utilize various assessment methods to monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
- Implement Harmony Public Schools' behavior management policies consistently to promote a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
- Professional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student growth and achievement.
- Participate actively in department meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
- Community Engagement:
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and the community to promote educational goals and student success.
- Support and participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, and events that enrich the school community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Texas teaching certification in Biology or eligibility for certification.
- Experience teaching Biology at the high school level, preferably in a diverse, urban setting.
- Strong knowledge of current educational trends, best practices in teaching, and educational technology.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
