Traveling Maintenance

Summary
As an Oldcastle Traveling Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of manufacturing equipment. You will be asked to travel throughout Georgia, Alabama & Tennessee to various plants. A successful candidate must be able to work safely in a fast-paced, covered and uncovered manufacturing facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist and direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
- Assist and direct workers in the diagnosis of malfunctions in equipment and machinery
- Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts and complete tasks as assigned
- Test malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs and discuss with Site Management for approval and repairs as needed
- Replace faulty parts, electrical wires, motors, controls, and circuit boards.
- Install equipment and electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning
- Ensure safety guidelines are followed.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed
Requirements
- At least 5 years of maintenance/electrician experience with at least two years working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading a team of maintenance workers and in other supervisory responsibilities, including mentoring and creating weekly work schedules
- Adequate computer skills to accurately document repairs and preventative maintenance practices
- Knowledge in how to create and manage department budget, planning and scheduling preventative maintenance, planning maintenance projects, and ordering parts
- Strong electrical background, PLC knowledge; 480 industrial voltage, maintenance programs, ordering parts, quotes for repairs and installation of equipment are essential qualifications necessary for this position
- Working knowledge of basic safety programs, particularly lock-out/tag-out procedures, as well as principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanics
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets and assemble schematic drawings.
Physical Requirements
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 65 lbs., extended standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing, working inside and outside, and use of fall protection equipment
- Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions
