POSITION OVERVIEW
The Hotel Maintenance Engineer works both collaboratively and independently to ensure all aspects of the operation function as initially intended. They are responsible for installing and removing equipment, conducting preventative maintenance for guest rooms and public areas, and effectively resolving any guest room issues. They will help ensure longevity of the hotel and possess the ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating high-level prioritization, cleanliness and organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead all actions resulting from service calls in a timely fashion and to hotel standards.

Collaborate with all departments and communicate through GXP.

Work with team to assess requests and provide a solution through, but not limited to, repair, maintenance, alteration, and new install.

Determine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, take necessary corrective action, and log actions.

Handle preventative maintenance of all equipment and keep appropriate logs.

Handle all repairs of equipment, including but not limited to, all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.

Install, replace, and program all areas of the guest room, including but not limited to, televisions, thermostats, minibars, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, furniture, and wall coverings.

Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Successfully achieve the hotel’s core competencies including work product, teamwork and culture, guest and customer service, work ethic, and impact-oriented problem solver.

All other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS

Previous engineering/maintenance experience or equivalent training required.

Specialized knowledge and skills or certification within a field or discipline such as plumbing, electrician, carpentry, equipment mechanics, HVAC, refrigeration, or similar.

Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including complaint handling and resolution.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple concurrent demands while prioritizing responsibilities.

Results oriented and highly motivated self-starter.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.

Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on own and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Ability to stand and walk for entire shift.

Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
