Department Description:
The System Support Office's Professional Billing Department supports professional billing for the providers of HHC's 5 hospitals and Hartford Healthcare Medical Group. This includes over 800 providers and 100 service locations. The department consists of teams covering all aspects of professional billing including front end revenue cycle, insurance verification, coding, claims, cash posting, and accounts receivable. Our teams collaborate daily with other departments across the system such as hospital billing, operations, finance, compliance, and many more.
Position Overview:
Supervises the Insurance Verification Team to ensure high quality, cost-effective service is delivered in support of the hospital's strategic plan, and the function's goals and objectives. The supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the team. Tasks include: Provide clear expectations for the team, perform daily rounding on the floor to coach, teach, mentor, reviewing metrics & determine root cause, review and approve timecards bi-weekly as well as other personnel responsibilities, attend meetings, and develop standard work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or appropriate certification may be required.
- Specific work experience may be necessary.
- Knowledge in Lean concepts and process.
- Experience leading employees.
- Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal.
