The Staff Accountant will work for the Executive Vice President of Finance in planning and executing the accounting operations of the Lockwood Construction Company.

Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures for multiple construction jobs.

Maintain the structure within ERP system including inputting and maintaining Prime Contract, Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, Change Orders, etc.

Percentage of Completion Accounting - Develop and maintain effective Percentage of Completion forecast capability. Assess adequacy of resource deployment commensurate with known project schedules and workload. Ensure adequate cost accumulation on each project.

Prepares and analyzes year and month-end reporting (WIP report, over/under, gross margin, revenue recognition, and revenue projection, a shift of work and variances to plan, forecast adjustments, earnings fade/gain, preconstruction costs) in accordance with GAAP.

Assists in the production of the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of accounts receivable progress billings based upon specific contract terms.

Supervise the payment process to vendors and subcontractors and confirm lien waivers and sworn statements are properly collected.

Oversee the monthly job cost report process with the EVP of Construction and project managers for use in creating and updating contract schedules and updated work in progress reports for internal and external use.

Interface with all projects, departments, and cost centers to ensure administrative requirements are met; investigate and/or help resolve and financial/accounting related problems.

As needed, provide information to the company’s auditors and bonding /insurance companies to review financials results and forecasts.

Coordinate the preparation of regular cash flow projections.

Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Proficient in job cost accounting software and Construction ERP systems (Procore is a plus)

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a proven history of managing multiple projects and processes.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (commensurate experience will be considered).

Minimum of Five years of related experience, three years with a General Contractor required.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Able to travel as needed.
