Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Independent Contractor)

Status of Position: Part-time/Independent Contractor available to qualified applicants in the Psychiatric Services Department, Inc. located in Oxford PA. The PNP is responsible for:
Description of Duties:
- Update each client’s demographic, medication, diagnoses and any other pertinent information as needed.
- Update patient data in the EMR system
- Review each patient’s medication regimen and make appropriate changes within standard prescribing guidelines and applicable law.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and updates as scheduled,
- Monitor changes in BMI for all patients particularly those who are prescribed SGAs.
- Provide medication administration support to those clients in need of an injectable medication.
- Reviews lab reports and communicate abnormal results to the client’s treatment team.
The following clearances are required: FBI/Child Abuse History/PA Criminal History/PA Driver’s License. Clearances must be obtained by the contractor at their own expense
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's in Nursing from an accredited College.
- Previous experience working with people who experience serious mental illness required.
- Have a thorough knowledge of recovery and wellness philosophy.
- Have a working knowledge of issues faced by those who experience serious mental illness.
- Have strong managerial, organizational and time management skills.**
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Establish positive working relationships with staff, community partners and the individuals you work with.
- Relate positively with colleagues and representatives of other agencies.
- Have the ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences.
- Must be able to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
