Assistant Staff Photographer
Seeking a full-time photographer to work with our in-house marketing team. We are a 55-year-old family-run business conveniently located close to mass transit in the Bronx. Through our brands, we specialize in producing innovative appliances for the foodservice, hospitality, residential, and medical markets.
The assistant staff photographer will be working in tandem with our senior photographer to prep, shoot, style, and edit product photography and video for use on our website, print catalogs, advertising, training materials, and social media platforms. This is an in-office position ideal for an enthusiastic, hands-on creative professional.
Responsibilities:
● Work collaboratively with the senior photographer to set up shoots, prepare and style products, and test lighting scenarios
● Style and shooting multiple angles of products to be used for e-com, print catalogs, and other marketing material
● Retouching and resizing images according to customer needs under the direction of the senior photographer
● Add surface textures to interior set images in Photoshop
● Process images to meet the requirements of 3rd party web platforms
● Update and maintain the digital archive of images
● Color management of images for print and web
● Participate in both on-site and on-location photo shoots as needed
● Assist in internal and customer-facing video creating as needed
The ideal candidate will have:
● 2+ years of on-set photography experience, preferably in the e-commerce field
● A strong understanding of lighting, particularly of metal and glass objects
● An eye for photography trends and the ability to provide suggestions and examples for new creative directions while remaining on brand
● Knowledge of industry standard photography and lighting equipment, preferably continuous lighting
● The ability to work in a high paced environment
● Must be highly creative, flexible, efficient, and detail-oriented
● The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
● Attention to detail and a high degree of organization
● Video experience is a plus
● Color management experience a plus
● Degree in photography or related field is a plus but not required
● Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
● Experience with 3D modeling and motion graphics a plus
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing.
· Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
· The role involves helping to set up photo shoots, must be able to bend down, manipulate objects, and lift up to 25 lbs at a time.
Our work week is Monday to Friday with standard business hours and a business casual dress code. This assistant staff photographer will be working out of our on-site photography studio in the Bronx.

Pay: $23-$25 an hour commensurate with education and experience.
