JOB SUMMARY:
The VP Payor Strategy and Partnerships is responsible for payor relations and strategies including risk based strategies, benefit feedback, quality measures and bonuses, payor contracting, contract financial and performance analysis, payor communications, payor compliance, revenue integrity/audit and panel management. This position will also be an integral part of the growth team fostering new relationships in new markets with payor partners and providing strategic guidance to senior leadership.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Serve as leader of the payor team and liaison with all payor partners
Develop long term and short term Value Based strategies with payor partners
Responsible for fostering relationship with payors and assisting in the development of the company’s growth strategy in existing and new markets -ensuring that best-in-class servicing is delivered, including onboarding, training, issue resolution with payers
Supports launching of value based programs in new markets/expansion of existing markets to achieve goals and financial forecasts
Responsible for executing on contract strategy and continued maintenance. This will require deep understanding of Risk Based contracts and corresponding economics
Responsible for contract performance and compliance.
Have responsibility for managing team that will assist in the execution of payor strategy.
This position will also maintain contract data and drive analytics around contract performance.
Accountable for designing and implementing a strategy to continuously improve financial results of existing contracts and programs while also leading a continuous process of innovation to identify new value based contracting opportunities relevant for the local markets and LOBs
Aligns contracting decisions with medical management strategy, integrating quality metrics and unique (non-traditional) incentives into the overarching contracting process, shepherding a market transition
Initiates, negotiates, and executes value-based Medicare Advantage contracts and agreements with health plans
Ensures internal dashboard of Value Based Programs & Contracts by state by LOB for assigned markets each period
Ensures Value Based Contracting/Reporting data and reporting internally and externally are accurate
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is preferred.
Proven work experience as a VP of Payor Strategies or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance and other regulatory matters.
Adept in fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and needs assessment.
Partner with CFO and CEO to establish and track revenue goals.
Possess critical knowledge of federal and multiple state tax laws as well as basic accounting issues.
Expertise in payor relations, network, contract language and economics, compliance.
