A privately-owned clinic, located just north of downtown St. Paul, MN, provides services to exclusively canines and felines. Rice Pet Clinic has been serving the area since 1962, we are dedicated to creating a positive, welcoming experience for our clients, patients and staff. Our team is seeking a skilled, full-time technician who enjoys playing a critical role in the lives of our patients and the hospital's culture. Compensation? We've got you covered! It's based on experience, and if you are certified or licensed technician, we can negotiate pending on your skill and experience level. New grads encouraged to apply. Skills necessary for the position:
- Successful pet restraint
- Assist veterinarians during examinations / procedures
- Perform various treatments / services
- Administration of medications: vaccinations, injections, oral, topical, eye, ear, etc.
- Pharmacy duties
- Blood draws
- IV catheter placement
- Laboratory and diagnostic testing: analysis of blood, urine, fecal and cytology samples, etc.
- Digital full body radiographs
- Dental radiographs
- Dental prophy
- Nursing care
- Prepare and monitor patients before, during and after sedation or anesthetic procedures
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Educate clients about wellness and prevention, nutrition, and individual pet health needs
