Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
Skills:
- Proficient in medical coding and understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques for dental diagnostics
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
- Skilled in maintaining aseptic technique to ensure infection control
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health conditions
- Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Excellent recordkeeping skills for maintaining accurate medical records
