Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our hospice organization. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for a variety of financial and administrative tasks, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and supporting our mission to provide compassionate care to our patients and their families.
Essential Functions:
- Review Accounts Payable Invoices and Post Checks:
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable invoices.
- Post checks and maintain records.
- Prepare Deposits:
- Handle deposits for checks and cash received, ensuring proper documentation and recording.
- Bill Claims to Insurance Companies:
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Prepare Self-Pay Statements:
- Generate self-pay statements and manage follow-ups on accounts to ensure timely payments.
- Update and Maintain Credentialing Requirements:
- Keep credentialing requirements up to date and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Reconcile Bank Statements:
- Reconcile bank statements with company records, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with Monthly Reconciliations and Posting Journal Entries:
- Support the finance team with monthly reconciliations and posting of journal entries.
- Prepare Statistical and Financial Reports:
- Compile various statistical and financial reports as needed, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
