Summary
The Child and Family Development Resource Center (CFDRC) at Eastern Connecticut State University, a state-of-the-art childcare and research facility, is seeking a part-time (University Assistant) health services coordinator/nurse. This is a part-time position (3-6 hours a week) 1-2 mornings
Duties
The health services coordinator/nurse will:

Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness

Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities

Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene

Keep track of students? vaccination records and annual physicals

Update students? medical history
-
Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)

Ensure compliance with national and local health laws and licensing standards of the Office of Early Childhood

Support the CFDRC with resources to families and teachers on child development and safety, nutrition, and health issues

Provide guidance in development of health and medication policies, provide staff training in medication administration
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor?s degree in nursing and hold a current valid Connecticut state nursing registration. Experience as a school nurse or within a pediatrician?s office as well as a working knowledge of Department of Public Health and Office of Early Childhood childcare licensing guidelines is strongly preferred.
