Job Responsibilities:
· Administer resident medication and treatments in accordance with the physician orders
· Assure resident safety by providing and directing care to attain or maintain their highest physiological wellbeing as determined by the Resident assessment and individualized care plan
· Assure that resident remains free from abuse or neglect
· Observe and evaluate resident condition, communicates with charge nurse regarding resident status
· Assist charge nurse in identifying any restorative or rehabilitation needs
· Ensures that call lights are answered timely and assists as needed
· Ensure medications are ordered and disposed of timely in accordance with physician orders
· Communicate with residents and their families regarding the status of the resident and changes in status
· Completes documentation in accordance with regulations
· Perform resident checks and environmental rounds on unit to ensure quality care is being maintained
· Provide guidance, supervision, and performance feedback to LNAs on units
Qualifications:
· Must posses a valid VT nursing license
· Must be competent in resident evaluation, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, INR monitoring, enteral feeding, wound care, catheter care, IV therapy, CPR and other necessary skilled treatments
· Must pass criminal and abuse background checks
