Technician, Locates
A Technician, Locates also known as a Utility Line Locator or Underground Utility Locator, is responsible for identifying and marking the location of EZEE fiber underground lines.

Responsibilities:
1. Utility Identification: Use specialized equipment and tools, such as pipe and cable locators, to accuratey identify the presence and depth of underground utilities.
2. Marking and Flagging: Once utilities are identified, the locator must clearly mark their positions on the ground using appropriate marking materials, such as paint, flags, or stake.
3. Collaboration: Work closely with construction crews, contractors, engineers, and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate utility locating activities and ensure that projects proceed safely and efficiently.
4. Works with various software programs including Korterra, 3GIS mapping to track, identify and report locate tickets.
5. Documents work completed with quality, accurate and descriptive photos.
6. Works on call as scheduled to respond to after hours emergency tickets.
7. Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest utility locating techniques, equipment and safety practices to enhance job performance and maintain industry standards.
8. Customer Service: Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills when dealing with clients, ensuring their needs are met and their concerns are addressed promptly.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Previous experience in utility locating, construction, surveying, or a related field is advantageous.
- Familiarity with utility maps, blueprints, and survey drawings is beneficial.
- Ability to operate utility locating equipment and interpret data accurately.
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must be highly self motivated and able to work independently.
- Proficient in basic computer applications for data entry and reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
