Job Summary
The Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of common areas within a facility, ensuring these spaces are welcoming and presentable for guests, visitors, and employees alike. This includes supporting the facility’s reputation for cleanliness and comfort, making it an integral part of the establishment’s operations.
Responsibilities are under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Inspector and/or the Housekeeping Manager.
Qualification Standards
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of progressive experience in a resort or related field preferred.
- Must possess a professional presentation.
- Must be bilingual (Spanish & English).
Physical Requirements:
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairways, climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Must be able to spend the majority of the day walking, twisting, bending, pushing/pulling and kneeling while cleaning.
Duties & Functions: Essential
- Clean and maintain all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and elevators, ensuring they are free from dust, debris, and litter.
- Replenish supplies in restrooms, such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels, to maintain hygiene standards.
- Respond to guest inquiries or concerns regarding public spaces, providing courteous and prompt service.
- Report any maintenance issues or damages in public areas to the maintenance team for immediate repair.
- Operate cleaning machinery, including vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, and carpet cleaners, to ensure floors and carpets are well maintained.
- Sanitize surfaces regularly to prevent the spread of germs, especially in high-touch areas like door handles and light switches.
- Arrange furniture in public areas, ensuring layouts are as per the establishment’s standards and conducive to guest comfort and safety.
- Monitor and clean external public areas, such as entrances, patios, and walkways, ensuring they are welcoming and safe for guests.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
