Summary/Objective
The receptionist is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and directing visitors and employees with a positive, helpful attitude. The receptionist must notify company personnel of visitor arrivals and act as a gatekeeper for the building. The receptionist is required to answer all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person/department.

Answer all incoming calls and direct as appropriate
Greet, assist and/or direct employees and visitors
o Act as gatekeeper for the building
o Badge Assignment for visitors
o Track employees in the event of a fire alarm
Open, separate, and deliver mail received each day, including daily trips to the Engineering building.
Website contact form - monitor and direct messages to appropriate parties
Open all incoming checks & create daily checks received log
Maintain coffee area
Support Customer Order Entry Team when needed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, lifting, bending, stooping, and standing are necessary. Mental alertness and long periods of concentration.
General information:
You are expected to stay right around the reception area when working to be close enough to answer the phones and greet visitors. Going just around the corner to attend to the coffee station is fine, but down the hallways leaves the reception area unattended for too long.
Attire and Grooming:
The Receptionist is the first person people entering our business see, so clothing should be consistent with the standards for a business environment. Employees are expected to be neat, clean, and well-groomed while on the job. Refer to the employee handbook for guidance on attire and appearance. On Fridays, jeans are acceptable to wear. This means nice jeans and not jeans that are torn or have holes in them. The rest of the Friday attire should still be like the other days of the week. Refer to the employee handbook for additional information.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:50 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School diploma
- Computer skills. MS Office – Excel, Word
