Responsibilities
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the product technical requirements, milestones, deliverables, and interdependencies for maintaining an accurate and effective project infrastructure.
- Solve engineering problems, fill gaps, and achieve objectives through a cross functional team.
- Navigate interrelated technical challenges and business issues to deliver impactful results.
- Design and maintenance of new and existing products (both electrical and mechanical).
- Research, develop, and prototype new feature concepts; work collaboratively with the software team to help define architectural and design requirements for new products
- Support the extended technical and production teams with hardware related questions and research efforts; provide support for new and existing customer inquires.
- Assist production team and production related efforts to achieve required quality and schedule milestones.
- Transparent and timely reporting of meaningful status and supporting detail to senior leadership and other internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Two+ years experience in hardware engineering, technical project leadership, or product development with a focus in electronics design.
- Must be able to reliably work 80% on site in Princeton, NJ area
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in EDA software like, Eagle, Altium, or KiCad
- Demonstrated experience in CAD tool such as Fusion 360 or SolidWorks
- Knowledge of circuit design principles and practices and demonstrated experience with embedded devices
- Bench experience using electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzer, SMD reworking equipment, etc.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as: MIPI, SPI, I2C, USB, RS485, RS232, etc.
- Experience with production scheduling, vendor management, and operations planning
- Able to communicate ideas and concepts effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of security industry and access control products strongly desired
- Prior experience with new product introduction (NPI) and post-product launch activities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment under rapidly evolving requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc.)
