Position Overview:
A Personal Support Instructor (PSI) are responsible for assisting clients whom have Intellectual, Developmental, Physical, and Behavioral Complications. Personal Support Instructors (PSI) primarily assist clients on a One-to-One ratio by strategizing the needs of the client to the human services available, and executing a support plan that will help the client achieve Independency and Self-Sufficiency. PSI's are expected to provide clear and coherent daily routines that correspond to the Individuals Support Plan. Your role will involve strategizing their needs, executing support plans, and helping them achieve self-sufficiency. We are looking for compassionate individuals with excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Responsible for providing personal support service, which may include assistance in maintaining physical space, equipment to ensure a high quality and safe living environment, and 24-hour emergency assistance.
- Monitors the health and safety of all individuals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients
- Implement the individuals objectives and behavioral plans specified in the Individual Service Plan.
- Documents all support services according to client ISP
- Submit consumer notes detailing which ISP goals were focused on during shift.
- Assist their client with activities of daily living and Assist in keeping accurate data on each individuals progress.
- Assist individuals on all household chores, yard maintenance and keeping their home clean.
- Appropriately follow company protocol to administer medications to individuals.
- Always ensure client supervision during shift and maintains a professional code of ethics.
- Properly document each self-dispensing administration in the Medication Administration Records.
- Maintain appropriate and professional relationship with peers, consultants, individuals and the community.
- Reports all possible cases of abuse, neglect or endangerment to appropriate supervisor; complies with all mandated reports legal requirements.
- Assumes continuing responsibility for maintaining an attractive interesting are in which to work with clients; shares in performance of routine housekeeping, monitoring and clerical tasks.

Qualifications:
- Valid CA Driver's License (Required).
- Understanding of behavioral complications and challenges is preferred.
- Previous experience in assisted living or direct support roles preferred.
