About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your nursing skills by providing direct patient care to teammates and support to the providers at an onsite occupational health clinic serving a leading automobile manufacturer. You will be integral to the clinic's success, responsible for acute and occupational health needs while coordinating treatment plans with the onsite physician or nurse practitioner and set appropriate return to work goals. This role will report to the onsite Practice Manager. The position promises a wide range of challenges and opportunities, with the chance to significantly contribute to the health and safety of a large workforce.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit.
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records, completing diagnostic and procedure coding, and keeping patient information confidential.
- Deliver overall support for providers and clinic operations.
- Instructs patients on the collection of any necessary samples and tests
- Provides patient education
- Give injections, and administer prescribed medications as directed by the provider and according to nursing standards.
- Observe patients, charting and report changes in patient's conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and take any necessary action
- Ensure that patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely matter and forward charts as appropriate in the electronic medical record.
- Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.
- Arrange referrals to a specialist and obtain pre-authorizations when directed by the provider.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
- Assist with lab testing and Phlebotomy.
- Assist providers in preparing for minor procedures and physicals.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and fostering a sense of teamwork.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs, and reporting to the Practice Coordinator.
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies/procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Provide high quality care to all patients
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to recognize emergent situations and act promptly and appropriately based on the patient's needs.
- Coordinate, assess, and develop treatment plans with the onsite physician or nurse practitioner and set appropriate return to work goals
- Always maintain professionalism
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Active TN or Compact State License
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse Experience in coordination of patient care or case management and worker’s compensation
- Certified DOT urine collector, Certified in BAT, experience with audiometry, titmus eye exam, spirometry, and phlebotomy
