Assistant Volleyball Coach
Position Summary
The Assistant Coach, Volleyball will aid the head coach of both the women’s and men’s volleyball team in providing leadership and organization for all phases of the operation of the program at Roosevelt in compliance with all national athletic association and conference rules and regulations during each respective season, as well as during off-season activities. Responsibilities of the Assistant Coach include, but are not limited to, practice planning and assessment, supervision of practices and competitions, individual student-athlete instruction and evaluation, academic mentorship, recruitment of prospective student-athletes, and assistance with team travel.
This is a part time exempt position that dually reports to the head coach of the women’s and men’s volleyball teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Prior experience in assigned program as a coach, participant or related role
- Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
- A positive and professional demeanor is a must
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
Prior recruiting experience at the college level.
Prior coaching experience at the college level
Equipment Operated
Basic office equipment (desktop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax and telephone).
Working Conditions
This position requires work in both an office and gymnasium setting. The role will require work on nights and weekends and travel with athletic teams as assigned, with travel for recruiting prospective student-athletes also required.
