Responsibilities:
Direct and manage the quality program, (regulatory compliance and quality) including directing employees’ activities, to ensure that the company packages products within food safety and quality standards and objectives. Actively involved in operational strategic planning with the executive leadership team to ensure meeting and exceeding the company’s food safety goals. Lead SQF Practitioner.
· SQF Practitioner, PCQI Certification, HACCP/HARPC
· Manage OTC, Cosmetic, Supplement and food programs
· Assists Senior Site Management to ensure the facility maintains compliance with the most current SQF Code and GFSI standards as well as customer and regulatory standards.
- Directly supervises the Production staff as to food safety requirements in their work of packaging the customer’s products and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, as assigned: interviewing and training employees as related to quality; planning, assigning, and directing work addressing complaints and resolving problems as related to quality.
- Conducts Production meetings as assigned, especially training on food safety and quality.
- Helps to establish SOPs which maximize the food safety efficacy of the Production department and allow the department to function at the highest level of productivity.
· Protects the brand(s) by ensuring full compliance to regulatory requirements and to IBR Packaging’s Food Safety System and quality objectives and requirements.
· Identifying, recording, and taking corrective action in instances of Food Safety and quality non-compliances.
· Utilizes the authority to place and release products from On Hold status.
· Verification and/or Validation of SOPs and SOFs.
· Assist Senior Site Management to ensure the integrity and continued operation of the Food Safety System in the event of organizational or personnel changes.
· Part of the Food Safety Team and Crisis Management Team.
· Assists the senor management to ensure compliance to customer packaging specifications.
· Oversight, delegation, and promotion of ongoing food safety programs and procedures.
· Key figure to promote and communicate the company’s product food safety and quality standards and objectives required to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.
· Assists the Senior Site Management in the oversight of company property to maintain a safe environment in which to produce superior, quality products.
· Lead and drive continuous improvement projects.
· Ensures all team members are complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
· Maintains chemical inventory and registry.
· Helps to provide or facilitate on-the-job training for new hires and promotes food safety culture.
· Follows Food Safety/Quality Standards and performs/documents required quality checks as assigned.
· Participate in Management Reviews
· Manage GMP Programs including pest control
· Review client documentation including intake forms and COA’s and labels
· Attend and participate in regulatory and food safety audits.
· Continuously develop and update training program. Assist with training new employees
· Must be able to lift 30lbs to inspect materials
· Good communication and organization skills
· Excellent attention to Detail
· Strong customer service skills as there will be interaction with clients
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
· Manage QC program and technicians – act as backup and key oversight
· Assist and manage QC technicians with the following:
Keep SOP’s and quality system updated to ensure cGMP and SQF compliance
Work with outside consultant to manage HACCP and GMP and SQF program
Inspect incoming materials for compliance with our standards.
Inspect product as it comes off the production line
Release quarantined product for shipping after it passes required testing
Verify all quality related documentation
Address all nonconformities
Ensure device calibration is performed as required, scales, etc.
Perform internal audits both independently and by working with outside consultant
Pull samples for micro and fill out necessary third party lab documentation
Perform ATP swab for cleaning validation before each production run
