Our company is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our trucking family. While this role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, our ideal candidate is also comfortable working as a technician who can diagnose and repair technology issues in newer trucks. In addition to making repairs, you will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines, brakes, transmission, and other systems.
Diesel Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines
- Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace
Diesel Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications
- 2+ years of diesel repair experience
- Valid driver's license
- Diesel technician or mechanic degree is a plus (not required)
- Experience with small diesel engine repair
- Some welding experience preferred
- Mechanical skills
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills
