Sinto America Surface Technologies provides precision shot peening, blasting and cleaning services through its National Peening and Technical Metal Finishing divisions.
National Peening is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Team in Greenville, SC.
What You Will Do
Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance which includes machine and facility.
General
- Daily start up and duties
- Walk around entire shop to observe and listen for screeching bearings, squealing belts, excessive shot on the floor, indicating a leaking machine, etc
- Check and update preventive maintenance logbook to stay on schedule
- Inspect all forklifts and fill out maintenance responsibility section each morning, making repairs as necessary.
- Repair or manage all breakdowns within the plant
- Maintenance personnel will be responsible for learning how a peening machine operates
- Work with contractors on projects and ensure projects are completed on time and on cost.
- Responsible for all maintenance records
- Inspect building for electrical issues such as defective lighting, electrical panels left open, etc.
- Responsible for all tools, both hand and power.
- Assist Quality Manager, Production Manager or operator when performing machine calibrations.
- Make sure area is organized and floor is free from foreign objects such as nuts, bolts, tape, metal, wood or anything else that does not belong.
- Responsible for adhering to all necessary OSHA guidelines.
What We Want From You
- Minimum of High School diploma and/or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree (B.S. /B.A.) or Associate's degree (A. A.) and two years related experience and/or equivalent experience is preferred Familiarity with ISO-9001, and/or Nadcap AC7004 quality system is preferred.
- Proficiency in the operation of a MIG welder and acetylene torch.
- Knowledge of interpreting technical drawings specifically engineering and mechanical drawings
- Ability to read and comprehend business, engineering and operational/manufacturing instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Statistical comprehension desired.
- Ability to analyze and resolve basic problems. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or equipment, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, extremes of heat and cold, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
