The EMR Application Support Specialist is responsible for managing and troubleshooting the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system to drive system improvements and optimize tasks. This individual will work closely with providers, clinical, operational, and administrative staff across all site locations. Main responsibilities include daily operational support, problem solving, education, training, as well as EHR optimization, maintenance and configuration.
REQUIREMENTS but not limited to:
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the EMR system
- Receives support requests via ticketing system, phone, messenger, email or in person, and provide technical support to end users. Ensures all technical support requests are entered, managed, and resolved in the organization’s support tracking system. Escalates issues as needed.
- Participates in system upgrades and new feature releases, testing and validating new EMR functionality.
- Responsible for correct EHR data mapping for UDS, FPAR, and other grant reporting tools.
- Manages unmatched lab/radiology orders and HIE documents daily and monitors for trends. Escalates issues to the EMR Systems Administrator, Senior Systems Engineer, and/or CIO.
- Assists in the management of Patient Portal routing, configuration, maintenance and training.
- Ability to identify problems, perform root cause analyses and/or collect pertinent information, propose solutions, and implement resolutions required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Completion of a degree or certificate program in a related field or relevant professional experience preferred High proficiency of computers and technical systems required
Minimum 2 years EHR experience preferred
NextGen Enterprise EMR experience preferred
Experience with medical terminology preferred
Understanding of system architecture, infrastructure, integration, and databases required
Experience developing and updating standard operating procedures, processes, or inter-departmental workflows preferred
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Reliable transportation required
Bilingual ability in English and Spanish, Portuguese or Creole speaking abilities preferred
Cultural sensitivity necessary to work with a diverse patient and staff population required
Ability to work independently and collaboratively required
Knowledge of computers and electronic medical records required
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite preferred
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written required

Pay: $49,500.00 - $80,000.00 per year
