Rare opportunity for licensed or registered associate LCSW, LMFT or LPCC to work as part of a dynamic team of Mental Health Professionals providing trauma-informed, strengths-based individual, group and milieu therapy in a locked residential setting. Our client population of judicially committed persons comprises 1/3 of the total client population of 89, the balance being LPS conservatees. The overarching goal is to assist all clients in the gradual transition from a higher level of care (State Hospital or Acute Care/Crisis Stabilization, respectively) to community outpatient treatment. We rely heavily, although not exclusively, on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in the service of that goal. Our clinical focus requires the integration of facilitating personal growth with mindfulness of public safety in developing Individual Service Plans for each client, and in making well-reasoned decisions in our reports and recommendations to the courts regarding client progress in a transitional setting and suitability for community outpatient treatment. As part of a larger, multidisciplinary team, The Forensic Mental Health team works collegially and collaboratively with Medical, Rehab/Activities, Social Services and Ancillary staff in designing and implementing programming that meets the evolving needs of our clients and satisfies the requirements of regulatory agencies.
Our current need is for one full-time Clinician, whose duties would include, but not be limited to, providing weekly individual therapy to a caseload of 8 clients, facilitating or co-facilitating 5 groups per week, and the documentation of those services in an accurate and timely fashion. The work week is typically Monday through Friday, 7:45 – 4:15, but alternative schedules may be negotiable/required. The salary range is XX.00 - XX.00 per hour, with a generous benefits package.
Suitable candidates MUST:
Possess a Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work or a closely related file.
Be a licensed or registered associate LCSW, LMFT or LPCC. Consideration may be given to Interns for other positions, as they arise.
Demonstrate knowledge of major mental Illnesses and their impact on perception, thinking, judgment and behavior. Verifiable experience working with persons with Major Mental Illness is strongly preferred. Experience working in a Forensic or Correctional setting is desirable.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Writing sample may be required.
