JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the over-site of the Wellness Staff (excluding the Wellness Director) and the handling of the resident medications). Daily the LPN will direct and supervise CNA staff, monitor their progress with the residents, coordinate their schedules and handle any initial disputes of questions that may arise. Moreover, the staff nurse will coordinate all resident prescriptions with the pharmacy and control all medication locked boxes. Finally, they will assist in the interview process and in-take process and, if necessary, take over the responsibilities of the Wellness Director if they are absent or preoccupied. Perform the duties of the Wellness Director in their absence.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:·Responsible for all CNA activities including: Providing initial training of CNA staff and continuing education of CNA staff. Maintain CNA work schedule and quality of work. Monitor CNA Database. Handle CNA questions and disagreements. Discipline CNA staffo Inform CNA staff of new resident and their care needsPrepare all staff write-ups and discuss with Wellness DirectorProvide training on Computer Database and company policy·Responsible for pharmacy orders and coordination between resident and pharmacy·Intake all medications and medication preparation·Exclusive control of all locked medication boxes· Returning all incorrectly filled prescriptions·Reporting all Medication Errors to Wellness Director·Perform and record all TB testing on staff and residents·Maintain all necessary and appropriate medical records for staff and resident·Regularly meet with Wellness Director to review resident health plans· Implement Wellness Plans·Respond to resident health emergencies· Responsible for appropriate, empathetic, compassionate and attentive communication, interaction and follow up with residents, family, guests and staff.·If necessary, assist Wellness Director with intake paperwork of new residents· Prepare resident's initial medications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current Licensed Practicing Nurse (LPN) licensure in the State of Illinois. Must have reliable transportation to downtown Hinsdale.
