WEEKENDS ONLY THURSDAY-SUNDAY
Direct Care Worker responsibilities include:
- Provide Direct care services to clients in residential settings.
- Maintaining written records related to the behavior of the client under his/her supervision.
- Administering medicine and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitoring the physical, mental, and emotional conditions of clients and reporting changes.
- Assessing the progress of the client in their assigned programs and communicating information to co-workers in other shifts.
- Assist with outings, leisure activities, activities in daily living.
- Be capable of intervening with clients who are agitated or out of control.
- Be proficient in monitoring the environment for safety concerns.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Running errands.
- Assisting with personal hygiene.
- Performing housekeeping tasks around the client’s home as needed.
As for education and experience requirements, you need to have:
- Graduation from high school or GED.
- Must be 18 years of age.
For knowledge skills and abilities, you need to have:
- Skilled ability at NCI (North Carolina Intervention Course).
- First Aid.
- CPR for Adult and Child.
- Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Medication Administration.
- Ability to report orally and in writing knowledge of emotional needs of individuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Transport, assist, and support for individuals as needed
Required Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and other staff. This includes written communication as well as verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of client's information.
- Ability to maintain a positive relationship with all staff members. This includes relationship building skills with respect to both positive behavior and challenging behaviors.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints. This includes but is not limited to weekends, holidays, and special events.
- SPECIFICALLY NEED 2:30PM TO 10:30 PM ON WEEKDAYS
- 7:30AM TO 3:30PM AND 2:00PM TO 10 PM ON THE WEEKENDS
Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements: Experience working at a 1700 residential level three group home (preferred)
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Please have an up to date TB test
