Summary:
The Maintenance Foreman supervises maintenance employees engaged in plant mechanical maintenance. Oversee the purchasing, scheduling, cost control, and management of the staff concerned with maintenance. Through the maintenance staff, establish and maintain the proper operation of plant utilities, well water pumps, fire pumps, air compressors, in compliance with government codes and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise maintenance staff and monitor work schedules, focusing on labor efficiency and quality of work

Coordinate maintenance projects and repairs with production

Coordinate maintenance parts and labor required to complete the work to the maintenance planner

Work with outside vendors to correct ongoing equipment problems.

Maintenance safety and procedure training

Understand and implement maintenance department specific SOP’s

During off shift operations, assume responsibility for the safety and security of the plant in addition to supervising help and carrying out work assignments

Conducts field inspections and assessments and evaluates the condition of facilities and assets, including root cause analysis

Understand and comply with all Safety, ISO, and SQF policies

Misc. projects as required.
Education & Training:

High School degree or GED

Ability to effectively communicate

Physical & Behavioral:

Frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear

Frequently required to reach above shoulders, climb, crouch, stoop or kneel

Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds usually from floor to waist level, and able to lift 25 pounds repetitively at or above shoulder height

Ability to work under conditions of high temperature and high humidity for extended periods of time
