SUMMARY:
This role of Structural Project Engineer will be accountable for project performance and ensuring quality control on project deliverables. The candidate will be able to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment working on multiple projects simultaneously and must be a team player.
DUTIES:
Professional Engineer working under general supervision, responsible for establishing design criteria and preparation of project deliverables while ensuring highest level of quality assurance. Requires application of standard engineering techniques, processes and procedures in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. This role will also lead structural design efforts for projects associated with any type of structure, including but not limited to, buildings, bridges, culverts, above or below ground pipes, and oceanside and marina piers/docks. Duties include: Prepare construction plans, technical specifications, technical studies and reports. Prepare quantity take-offs and/or calculations. Direct CAD designers in the preparation and production of construction plans. Provide quality reviews of own work and work by others in accordance with Company's quality control program and processes. Assist in business development and proposal preparation. Participate in strategic business development initiatives and marketing pursuits. Assist in construction administration and inspection of projects, including the review of shop drawings, preparation of inspection reports, material quantity verification, and reviewing and responding to contractor material submittals, RFI's, and change order requests.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field (or foreign equivalent). Must have a minimum of 60 months of engineering experience; Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) or able to obtain an NCEES record within six months of employment. Engineering experience must include at least 1 year of Structural Design, building and miscellaneous structures design, or bridge design and NBIS inspections. Experience may be gained concurrently. Must be able to secure transport for off-site inspections within 3 months of start date. Alternative: Employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field (or foreign equivalent). Must have a minimum of 36 months of engineering experience; Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) or able to obtain an NCEES record within six months of employment. Engineering experience must include at least 1 year of Structural Design, building and miscellaneous structures design, or bridge design and NBIS inspections. Experience may be gained concurrently. Must be able to secure transport for off-site inspections within 3 months of start date. Occasional travel to project sites, condition assessments, bridge inspections, and/or to attend meetings will be required (30%) with some overnight travel. Directing CAD designers (17-3011.00) is inherent in the position of a Civil Engineer as described in O*NET.

Hours: M-F, 8AM - 5PM Full-time - 40 hrs/wk.
