New Business/Customer Service Representative I
Job Summary:
The New Business/Customer Service Representative processes new applications and verifies all forms are in good order for processing.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Review and process new applications, ensuring technical, legal, and underwriting guidelines are met using specific screening criteria
- Enter new applications into database, processes underwriting requirements, and issues policies
- Respond to inquiries from policyholders and agents regarding policy provisions, company procedures, and policy changes
- Assemble or assist with assembling the new policy and maintaining filing systems
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills including active listening
- Service-oriented, detail-oriented, good organization
- Basic computer skills with ability to learn new software
- Good math aptitude
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience required
- Fluent in English and Spanish, a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Schedule and Salary Range:
- Full-time position – non-exempt
- Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Salary Range: $30,000 - $40,000 annually
