We are seeking a Maintenance Planning Engineer for a key client of ours at large manufacturing plant in Freeport, Texas. In this role you will be responsible for managing unplanned work orders, generating job plans (including labor, material, equipment, and services), creating job packets for field execution, and continually improving job plans via updates based upon feedback. Maintenance planning covers areas such as rotating equipment repair, piping fabrication and repair (including support tasks like insulation and scaffolding), electrical, carpentry, painting, QA/QC, inspection, etc.
Responsibilities:

Manage the unplanned work order backlog

Review backlog and planning list
-
Clarify incomplete or poorly defined work notifications
-
Combine similar work orders and/or notifications for efficiency
-
Determine planning needs to complete projects
-
Complete job plans to ensure the safe and efficient execution of all maintenance work

Outsource for specialty contractors or skills requirements
-
Labor estimate and plan Bill of materials
-
Contract services and work with external resources, vendors and parts suppliers for special tools and equipment

Identify and provide repair procedures as required (technical documents)
-
Define support for Production to prepare/tag equipment, special permits, PPE, etc.

Create job packets (as needed) which include Job Plans and Technical documentation (e.g., photos, drawings, technical specifications, etc.)

Build and validate job kits (transitional task)

Assist Maintenance Supervisor and Specialist in the timely execution of emergency or critical priority jobs

Assist with optimization of spare parts inventory

Build and maintain Bill of Materials (BoMs)

Identify jobs that require Management of Change (MoC)

Create purchase requisitions and reservations for necessary materials, equipment, or services and orders material

Build task lists (job plan library) for recurring jobs

Continually update task lists to ensure necessary changes or improvements are incorporated,

Ensure efficiencies are captured per job feedback forms

Forward completed ready-to-schedule job packages to the Scheduler
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or the equivalent work experience (5+ years of directly relevant experience)

Proven 5+ years experience in maintenance planning and coordination within a manufacturing or industrial environment

Strong understanding of maintenance processes, rotating equipment repair, piping fabrication and repair, carpentry, painting, QA/QC, and inspection
-
A background in maintenance and repair at large industrial facilities, especially an electrical or mechanical engineering background very helpful

Familiarity with technical documentation and repair procedures

Proficiency in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
