2 Way Radio - Emergency Lighting Products installer

Northwest Communications / NW Radio / NWR is hiring entry level Field Service Installation Technician based in Houston, Texas. We will provide training and close supervision. Field Service Installation Technician are responsible for basic installs, extended wire pulls, repairs, and upgrades of digital, analog commercial and public safety two-way radio equipment.
This is a critical role that requires our Field Service Installation Technician to work at customer locations and at NWR’s shop. Installers are expected to interact directly with customers as well as NWR’s technical department and sales team. Therefore, successful candidates must be reliable, on time ,customer service oriented, team players, professional in appearance and effective communicators (verbal and written).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform all work as necessary to conform to quality, security, and safety control guidelines.
- Adhere to TQA standards in accordance with company policy
- Escalate unresolved customer issues to supervisor
- Keeping the job site and shop work area clean of all debris and materials after the installation is complete including emptying trash containers , sweeping floors
- Educate customer on proper use of radios and emergency lighting equipment
- Maintain accurate records including time worked, daily logs, properly record all required information on data devices and/or work orders
- Operate communications device in accordance with company policies
- Operate Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner. Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment, in accordance with company policies
- Utilize and become proficient with tasks, tools, test equipment and information that will enhance business results
- Know, understand, and follow company policy
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS : High School Diploma, GED and/or equivalent work experience .
- Must be able to demonstrate how to use a multi-meter 12vdc, AC, ohm meter
- Must be able to identify different Coaxial , Cat cable and their Connectors , Crimp Tools and demonstrate how to use them during interview
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record within Company’s required standards
- Pass Clear-Check background check.
- Pass any background check required by customer
- Pass a drug test
- Proficient computer & software user: Apple, Microsoft
- Ability to learn how to use test equipment associated with position
- Have daily Reliable transportation to and from work
- Professional references
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner.
- Provide your own basic tools , battery powered drill , screw drivers , wrenches etc.
- Have the ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, including ladders.
- Have the ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment
- Have the ability to read and accurately use a tape meassure or other measuring devices
- Have the ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 32 ft high and 90 pounds)
- Have the ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
- Have the ability to perform job from high places (roof tops and ladders, scissor lifts)
- Have the ability to work while standing 50 – 70% of the time
- Have the ability to work with small components and wires to make cable connections
- Have the ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories and company facilities
- Have the ability to work outside for extended periods in any season and/or during inclement weather
- Have the ability to complete documentation accurately
- Have the ability to climb in and out of transportation /school busses and concrete trucks including getting on the roof for antenna installation.
- Have the ability to climb up roof access ladders and open hatch doors
- Have the ability to lift 50lbs

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work indoors in confined space,MDF, IDF rooms, garages, warehouses, attics, basements and/or crawlspaces if needed.
- Exposure to dust, dirt, noise.
- Work performed near power lines and electricity
- Working outdoors or indoors in all kinds of weather hot or cold at all times of the day or night
- Working various heights above ground
- Work and travel in inclement weather
- Occasionally required to work overtime as the business needs dictate
- Ability to work weekends as the business needs dictate
