The Agricultural History Project honors and promotes past and present knowledge about agriculture on the central coast.
AHP preserves, exhibits, collects, and builds community awareness of the economic, cultural, and ethnic aspects of agriculture in the area.
The AHP facilities are located at the front entrance of the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds. The organization operates an agricultural museum with a focus on education and entertainment for our members & visitors. As a non profit organization we host a variety of fundraisers and events.

This position is part time, hourly, with a flexible schedule of some remote work & some onsite work, reporting directly to AHP Executive Director Dave Kegebein. It is estimated that this is a 12 to 18 hour per week position. The person who has held this part time position for the past 10 years is moving on to other adventures but plans to continue some volunteer involvement with the organization so she will be available to answer questions like how to turn off the alarms and find the restrooms, etc.
The skill set we are looking for in this position is typical dedication, focus, follow thru, creativity, computer utilization, etc. We have several committees and a board of directors to prepare documents for and track progress as we advance the organization.
Last week I posted this position using Indeed's AI generated description with some minimal deletions for items that were not relevant in their template. This was my first time using this platform and I now realize I did not provide a proper description of the organization and position I am looking to fill because I received a buzillon applications. I have hired hundreds of people during my 50 year work career but this is my first time using this format for this organization and for this type of position so I did not apply enough upfront thought to this process but hopefully I have my stuff together now.
