QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Risk Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum 1 years of Security experience, with an emphasis in all areas of asset protection, employee safety,
- Must have an In-depth knowledge of federal/state laws and local ordinances or regulations pertaining to security surveillance, life/safety requirements, and applicable elements of employment law.
- Experience with and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and/or regulatory agency reporting requirements regarding security and gaming surveillance.
- Strong leadership skills and customer service orientation required.
- Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel.
- Strong computer skills to include effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Knowledge of Accident/Incident Information Management and reporting systems preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides leadership direction as assigned in accordance with the company organizational structure.
- Prepares and maintains monthly, quarterly, and annual Security and Surveillance related statistical data designed to identify areas of opportunity or potential risks.
- ·Establishes or recommends to management, major asset security related strategies, objectives, and policies to ensure appropriate levels of safety and security can be maintained.
- Recruits, interviews, and assists with selection of employees to fill vacant positions in assigned areas.
- Oversees development and maintenance of annual Business Plan and Operating Budgets for all departments within span of control and ensures all variances are identified and justified appropriately.
- ·Attends scheduled management meetings and presents Security and Gaming Surveillance related information to departmental managers.
- Provides continuous feedback to department management regarding related issues and makes recommendations for continual improvement.
- Ensures all team members assigned to their shift understand and comply with the appearance standards of the casino.
- Ensures all team members assigned to their shift understand and comply with the attendance policy of the casino.
- Assists departmental managers with conducting ongoing safety focus groups for line staff and supervisor level employees for the purpose of identifying potential and existing areas for concern and to solicit problem resolutions.
- Establishes and maintains strong professional relationships with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, fire and safety institutions, business leaders, community leaders, and others that may serve as strategic partners.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates and maintains harmony among workers and resolves issues of concern.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises, and cigarette smoke. Extensive computer use. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile guests. High volume direct public contact.
