Position Description
Title: Material Handler/Forklift Operator
Department: PolyAir - IPG Chicago
Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff
Status: Hourly Union
Position Purpose: Operates Forklift on 12hr Shift
Schedule: 12 hour shift from 7 AM to 7:15 PM, rotating 2-2-3, 3-2-2, every other weekend
Pay Range: From $17.00 up to $18.60. Increase after 90 days of $.25.
Principle Accountabilities

Move raw materials to the production lines or proper storage areas, as required

Stage finished product per instructions or move to warehouse storage area

Track and sort inventory
- Ensures the accuracy of incoming and outgoing materials

Organize assigned work areas, using lift truck or hand balm, as indicated

Troubleshoot part issues

Observe safe working practices

Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner

Complete required paperwork

Keep warehouse clean and neat
-
Relieve in production as assigned and trained

Other assigned duties, as required
Essential Skills and Experience
-
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

2+ Years in a Manufacturing environment / general labor experience preferred.
- Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.

Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required

Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis

General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork

Effective interpersonal skills

Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention

Inventory experience preferred
