The primary responsibility of this role is to drive sales and establish and cultivate partnerships with corporate, housing, governmental, and school districts entities to drive new sales to the Y to promote YMCA membership, programs, and services.
Key Responsibilities:

Membership Sales Development: Identify and pursue opportunities to establish increased sales at the YMCA of Greater Houston YMCA.

Corporate, Apartment, ISD, Housing, and Governmental Sales Development: Identify and pursue opportunities to establish corporate partnerships with businesses and organizations in the local community.

Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate decision-makers, HR professionals, and key stakeholders to understand their needs and promote YMCA membership solutions.

Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive corporate membership growth and revenue generation.

Lead Generation: Generate leads through networking, cold calling, prospecting, and other sales techniques to expand the corporate membership base.

Proposal Development: Prepare customized membership proposals and presentations tailored to the specific needs and interests of corporate clients.

Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and incentives to secure corporate membership agreements and close sales deals.

Retention and Expansion: Work collaboratively with YMCA staff to ensure a seamless onboarding process for corporate members and to facilitate ongoing engagement and retention efforts.

Performance Tracking: Monitor and track sales performance metrics, including revenue targets, conversion rates, and pipeline activity, to assess progress toward goals and identify areas for improvement.

Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to inform sales strategies and positioning.

Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports and updates for management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, hospitality or related field.
- Four or more years of successful sales experience consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
- Ability to drive the sales process from start to finish.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.

Ability to quickly build rapport and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and other sales software.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.

Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
- CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
COMPUTER LITERACY
Skills are essential in all of the Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to use these programs to lighten work load, develop reports and to automate procedures is very necessary. Ability to diagnose basic PC problems and to communicate those problems is very important.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

HOURS
Flexible with scheduling and availability to work operational hours of the YMCA and sites, which may include day, evenings and weekends.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local between assigned centers and potential customer locations during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
