Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the successful outcomes of our patients.
Duties:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are sterilized and ready for use
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies
- Maintain a sterile field by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with positioning and draping
- Collect data and document patient information accurately in electronic medical records systems such as Epic
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety
- Clean and restock operating rooms after procedures
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program
- Current certification as a Surgical Technician (CST)
- Proficiency in medical terminology and knowledge of surgical procedures
- Experience working in critical care areas such as ICU or PICU is preferred
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
