We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. As a Counselor, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic services to a wide variety of ages and populations with various mental health and behavioral conditions. Your role will involve conducting client assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of ages in different therapeutic settings, experience with diagnosing mental illness in children and adolescents and adults, comfortable communicating and working with families and possess strong skills in data collection and medical documentation. Additional training and certifications in evidence based practices are highly encouraged but not required.
Duties:
- Conduct client assessments to gather information about their mental health history and current condition
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on the assessment findings
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address the specific needs of each client
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of client throughout the course of treatment
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Provide crisis intervention as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of clients
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in their treatment process
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of therapy
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- Valid license in the State of Texas as a Therapist (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum and those with personality disorders is highly preferred
- Strong skills in data collection and medical documentation
- Proficiency with crisis intervention techniques and trauma informed care
- Proficiency in using mental health terminology and understanding medical records
