Primary Responsibilities:

Operate food packaging equipment and ensure that each component of the assigned line is functioning correctly.

Monitor the production process, make periodic checks, and adjusts equipment or work practices to maximize production efficiency, yields, quality, and safety; using appropriate foundational elements (Centerlines, CIL’s, Start-up/Shutdown Checklists, troubleshooting guides) while learning and growing within assigned production lines.

Ensure Product Quality Standards are met (Weights, codes, packaging, placards, fill cards, filter checks).

Troubleshoot basic mechanical features and perform basic mechanical tasks utilizing SOP, guides, JSA etc.

Ensures that line conditions are acceptable to change from one product to another by evaluating that materials, paperwork, and equipment have been staged for changeover and notify Maintenance if repairs are needed.

Communication: Across shifts in handovers, shift huddles, report equipment concerns/issues with Maintenances and Leadership, share continuous improvement ideas.

Meet and follow all safety, quality, and GMP standards.

Correct usage of production systems with correct coding and self-audit.

Clean, organize, perform rework, dumps bottles and other tasks associated with driving performance efficiency in the operation of the manufacturing environment.

Learn 5S standards and help to drive throughout all assigned activities.

Report all incidents/accidents to plant leaders.

Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs qualification.

Required Education/Experience:

Minimum of 6 months of previous work experience or equivalent education
Preferred Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Forklift License preferred

Must wear Food Manufacturing GMP and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, no facial piercings, no jewelry, false eyelashes or fake fingernails.
Language Ability: Ability to speak, read, write and interpret documents in English such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to comprehend directions and communicate with other employees in English as part of regular job duties.
Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables or based on past experience or training.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to learn a computer system and enter information in English into a computer system.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), heat, and moderate level of noise. Ear protection is provided, but not required.
At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
The base pay range for this role is between $20.50 to 22.50 per hour. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
