Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer requests for emergency service when equipment is shut down.
- Identify problems with equipment and repair when possible, or inform the responsible person within the Division so immediate corrective action may be taken.
- Identify and resolve problems with the manufacturing of equipment that are in the field.
- Commission and certify new and existing installations, furnishing complete information/ reports to Sales, Engineering and/or Installation.
- Complete Service Reports, including description of work, parts used, time required, travel miles required, customer contact, and purchase order number so that paid service calls can be billed immediately.
- Take airflow readings and/or measurements with Nederman provided equipment to ensure system meets the engineered design requirements. Make the necessary adjustments to balance the system. Manages and responds to all aftermarket leads, using leads as an opportunity to re-engage end users and build relationships
- Develop and assist with special projects, providing engineering with results.
- Coordinate customer complaints with appropriate department to ensure problem is promptly and fairly resolved.
- Promote sales of repair parts, recommended spare parts, and preventative maintenance services.
- Manage travel expenses and day to day scheduling of own activities in coordination with service manager or service coordinator.
Qualifications
Your Experience & Education
- High school diploma, or equivalent. Preferred, Two (2) year college technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or Mechanical Technology.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience performing service and maintenance activities in an industrial environment or Equivalent military experience.
- Must have valid driver’s license, a clean driving record.
- Travel ~ 60-75% Domestic USA
- Your Skills & Traits:
- General working knowledge of industrial ventilation design.
- Familiarity with PLC programming, ladder logic and variable frequency drives and motor controls
- Mechanically and electrically inclined with the ability to perform “hands on” tasks.
- Use a multi-meter to check fuses, troubleshoot contactors, verify power, troubleshoot 3-phase motors, etc.
- Work within the safety guidelines of customers, Nederman and OSHA; always operating by the most stringent of safety protocol.
- Willingness to learn new technology.
- Work independently and conscientiously to complete a job.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Communicate clearly and precisely with internal and external customers.
- Customer and Team oriented.
