Our 16 person, locally owned office of a Fortune 500 company is comprised of six Certified Financial Planners (CFP®) and six administrative assistants. Each partner serves approximately 200 client households and collectively the firm manages over $750M in client investments held mostly in fee-based wrap accounts. For new applicants, the credentials outlined below are preferred but not required when applying for the Paraplanner position. As you train and complete the required licenses and registrations, you will progress to the position of Paraplanner/Associate Financial Advisor (AFA).
SIE, Series 7 & 66, Life, Health & Annuities licenses or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire date. Special consideration will be given to candidates with CFP designation and graduates of a college CFP Certification Education Track.
Typical Paraplanner/AFA responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Meet and greet clients upon arrival for meetings
· Manage and resolve client service problems
· Help support financial plan construction and create allocations for client portfolios in various software tools
· Assist and collaborate with lead advisor during client visits
· Prepare charts, graphs, tables, and other visual aids to be used in implementation meetings with clients
· Work alongside the lead advisor to create client presentation deliverables and pre/post meeting follow-ups
· Perform other allowable duties as assigned by the financial advisor(s)
Candidates must demonstrate effective organizational skills, written/verbal communication, and critical thinking to manage their workload without supervision. Attention to detail and a team player mindset are essential traits.
Basic mastery of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as internet applications is required. Training on proprietary software will be provided.
Please note: there is no aspect of “selling to clients” in the Paraplanner/Associate Financial Advisor support role at our firm. Candidates who already have a book of business will not be able to bring their clients with them to this position. This is predominantly a support role, it is not an administrative position as the firm already has several long-serving administrative assistants.
Compensation: Salary range $50,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience and licenses, in addition eligible for annual bonus and benefits. Details of this will be discussed in future interviews.
