Summary
Perform inspections, service, repairs and upgrades of clean agent fire suppression and other engineered special hazards fire suppression and detection systems. Perform initial acceptance testing, programming and testing of newly installed systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform programming, start-up and commissioning of Special Hazards Systems.
- Perform inspection and testing on Special Hazards Systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair of Special Hazards Systems.
- Complete inspection reports and service work orders.
- Read, interpret and apply technical design requirements of fire protection codes and standards (Such as NFPA 70, 2001 etc.), building codes, fire codes, insurer criteria, and other technical design documents.
- Read and interpret building construction documents such as drawings, specifications and other contract documents.
- Prepare lists for ordering of Special Hazards Systems equipment.
- Perform accurate surveys of Special Hazards Systems in existing buildings.
- Coordinate installation with electricians.
- Coordinate activities with project manager.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma and two (2) years experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Type K – Kitchen Cooking System License
Type A – Fixed System License
Type B – Portable Fire Extinguisher License
NICET certification preferred
Additional Requirements
Pre employment dug screen, valid Drivers License and clean MVR.
