The Accounting Associate is responsible for overseeing and performing the licensing requirements for the company and accounting duties related to accounts receivable and other financial and accounting operations.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Licensing Administration
- Manage NMLS license status. Review NMLS site for exceptions or outstanding items and initiate appropriate follow-up through filing information and communicating as necessary with others in the organization.
- Responsible for processing license applications and statuses, including servicing, debt collection, loan processor/underwriter licenses, and others. These will be primarily within NMLS but will also involve manually submitted applications and communications.
- Receive information from other departments and upload to NMLS or regulatory agencies as appropriate.
- Enter delinquency and other information into NMLS from reports received by management.
- Keep track of communication and open points between NMLS, licensing agencies, and AmeriNat and ensure items are responded to promptly.
- Assist in filing call reports, licensing reports, and other forms.
- Assist in completing necessary Secretary of State registrations.
- Receive and upload surety bonds necessary for licensing. Ensure bonds are properly completed based upon NMLS requirements. Communicate with insurance company as necessary regarding bonds.
Accounting Duties
- Entering Accounts Receivable invoices and cash receipts into Accounting System.
- Entering Accounts Payable invoices and payments for clients.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable collections making collections calls, e-mail follow-ups and maintaining the Accounts Receivable communication logs.
- Assist with month end close, monthly reporting and reconciliations.
- Assist with projects / various reporting (i.e. escheating and property tax).
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in financial services a plus.
- Familiar with accounting systems and Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Must be able to work independently but have a team player attitude.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with varied level of internal and external personnel.
- Must be energetic, self-motivated, with a strong desire to succeed and excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills – English required.
