Required Work Schedule: Saturdays 7am-3pm and 4 other days through the week on either an Opening Shift (630am-3pm) or a Closing shift from (12pm-830pm).
Job Type: Full-time (40 hrs per week/8 hr shifts)
Pay Range: $16 - $18 per hour (based on experience)
Job Description:
Freedom Plasma is seeking a Donor Center Technician II with a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills to join our team in St. Petersburg, FL. The ideal candidate must be flexible to work Saturdays from 7am-3pm and at least 4 other days throughout the week, working an 8-hour shift for a total of 40 hours per week on a closing shift from 12pm-830pm.

The Donor Center Technician II responsible for performing quality calibration activities for the screening and donor floor area equipment. The DCT II is accountable for donor center pre-registration, registration, conducting health screenings, machine set up, donor disconnects, and preparing the plasma bottle for sampling. This position will assist with donor center flow by monitoring equipment.
General Summary of Duties:
- Perform pre-donation medical screening and/or assessment, including blood pressure, temperature check, pulse, capillary tube sample collection, hematocrit, and total protein determination.
- Setup donors for the plasmapheresis procedure and ensure the correct installation of disposable soft goods.
- Disconnect donors post-procedure and provide post-donation care education.
- Conduct pre-registration and registration verification activities for new donors.
- Monitor equipment for alerts or alarms and take appropriate action following standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Complete cleaning activities based on the required equipment activity schedule.
- Participate in donor flow management by assigning and escorting donors to the appropriate donation area.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal company procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
- Accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
- Regular attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year of work experience preferred.
- License or certification as required by state regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knee.
- Ability to sit for extended periods up to four (4) hours at a time.
- Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
Work Environment:
- Typical work environment with moderate noise level.
- May be exposed to freezing temperatures for short periods.
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
