LOCATION DESCRIPTION:
Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the planning and provision of nursing care to patients in the step-down unit. Accurately interprets ECG rhythm and manages care of patients during life threatening emergencies in populations served. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required cardiovascular nursing knowledge and skills applicable to the care of post-coronary intervention and open heart patients during their rehab & discharge phase of their hospitalization. Has excellent observation, good nursing judgment/critical thinking, and good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with multiple tasks in a team setting utilizing interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills. Able to supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice.
Education and Work Experience:

Associate's degree or equivalent: Required

Bachelor's degree: Preferred

Basic Dysrhythmia course: Preferred

6-months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience in last 2 years: Preferred

Completion of Critical Care Course: Preferred
Licenses and Certifications:

BLS through the American Heart Association: Required

ACLS through the American Heart Association: Required (required within 6 months of hire for a new graduate)

Current State of California RN license: Required
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
